Couple Therapy
Service Description
Couples often come to therapy when the relationship has become organised around repeated conflict, distance, silence, resentment, mistrust, fear, longing or misunderstanding. The work is not to decide too quickly who is right or wrong. It is to slow down the pattern between you, understand what each person is carrying, and create a more honest space for communication and choice. Couples therapy may support work around communication, intimacy, affairs, separation, parenting, family pressure, cultural difference, or uncertainty about the future of the relationship. For intercultural couples, therapy may also involve the unspoken meanings of language, family loyalty, emotional expression, shame, independence, duty and belonging. Couples therapy is offered by arrangement following an initial discussion of suitability.
