not to be worthy of my sufferings.

When understanding is not enough
Many people come to therapy after a long time of carrying things alone.
Life may function well on the surface: studying, working, earning, performing, parenting, caring ...
But somewhere inside, something has become strained, repetitive, or quietly unbearable.
A familiar place returns.
The same shame. The same fear. The same loneliness. The same anger. The same numbness. The same longing. The same loss of voice, body, choice, or aliveness.
You may understand where it comes from. You may have words for the pattern. And yet, understanding has not reached the place where the wound lives.
Psychotherapy is a space for that deeper meeting. Not a quick solution. Not advice from above. Not another demand to improve yourself. But a sustained, confidential relationship in which the hidden shape of your suffering can begin to be seen — and where something in you may slowly become able to move, speak, grieve, choose, and live differently.
Therapy across language, culture and soul
Sessions can be in English, Mandarin, or a mixture of both.
For some people, language is not only a tool of communication. It is where memory, shame, tenderness, anger, duty, grief and belonging are stored.
Some things can be said in English, but not in Chinese.
Some things can be said in Chinese, but lose their depth in English.
Some parts of the self only appear in the crossing between languages.
I work with English-speaking clients, Mandarin-speaking clients, Chinese students, bicultural adults, international families, intercultural couples, and people who feel caught between cultures, roles, loyalties and versions of themselves.
You do not need to translate yourself into a simpler person here.

Before therapy
You do not need to arrive with a clear story.
Often, therapy begins with something much less organised:
a pressure in the chest,
a relationship that keeps wounding,
a life that looks acceptable but feels increasingly far away from the truth.
It may begin with grief, anxiety, depression, shame, family conflict, divorce, separation, cultural displacement, parenting difficulty, or the painful recognition that you no longer know where you have gone.
The work is not to force change.
It is to create the conditions in which truth can be approached without collapse,
and change can emerge from a deeper place than self-criticism.

About me
Welcome. I am Yinxue Pan.
I offer one-to-one psychotherapy for adults and young people, and therapy for couples by arrangement.
My work brings together psychosynthesis psychotherapy, CBT practice, experience from NHS mental health services, and lived English/Chinese bicultural experiences.
Services
I offer individual psychotherapy, young people’s therapy, Mandarin and cross-cultural therapy, and couples therapy by arrangement. I run psychoeducational workshops and wellbeing events periodically.
Each piece of work begins differently.
Some people come with a clear problem. Some come with a relationship that keeps hurting. Some come because anxiety, depression, shame or numbness has become too difficult to keep carrying. Some come with no precise words yet — only the sense that something in life has become too far from the truth.
Therapy begins from where you are.
